It's not just wind turbines we get excited about, below is a few of the other projects we're involved with.  If you've got any ideas of projects you'd like to get involved with, contact us.

Bikes

EVENTS

We have various pedal-powered activities, including video games and music machines which we can bring to your community, youth or play event. These are can be tailored to suit any ages and are designed to be interactive and fun whilst demonstrating the nature of energy usage.

We have ran pedal-powered activities at council and charity events in Nottingham as well as summer festivals all over the country, get in touch to discuss what we can do for you… info@v3power.co.uk 07969783353

YOUTH WORKSHOPS

Human Powered Generator

Race against each other and the clock to make your own electricity! We'll split you into two teams and see who can put together the best human powered generator from a pile of scrap.

You'll have to use bits of old bikes, parts from a scooter and even an old mattress to build your fabulous contraption. Then we'll see which team can squeeze the most energy out of their machine when they go head to head.

Each team will have an expert advisor on hand, but will have to think creatively and get their hands dirty to come out on top.

We are running this workshop in schools as part of NESTA's iDiscover programme but it is open to any schools or groups that may be interested. Get in touch for more details... info@v3power.co.uk

Veg Oil

There's plenty of Chippy's in Nottingham, and as a result quite a lot of waste vegetable oil.  Current projects involving this great resource from waste include:

  • A basic filtration system
  • Making Biodiesel
  • Converting cars and stand alone generators to run off veg oil

Solar Water Heating

The average solar energy over the entire earth equals164 Watts per square meter over a 24 hour day. This can even reach about 500W during the day in Britain. Converting this to heat to warm water is a very useful and easy to build renewable energy device.  We've run courses on how to build your own Solar Water Heater, following the design from the Centre for Alternative Technology.
