We now sell complete wind turbine kits!

These bespoke kits comprise a set of three hand-carved blades, alternator and mounting. We have been building these turbines for over 5 years and as a result you can expect the highest degree of craftsmanship. The turbines can be installed as a grid-tie or to charge a battery bank and can come as 12V, 24V, 48V or higher voltages for use with grid tie inverters.

All kits come with a copy of Hugh Piggott's book explaining the construction and assembly of the turbine as well as information on how and where to site it.

Please note - tower and electrical system are not included, although we are able to design and/or supply electrical systems on a case by case basis; please contact us for details.

Each component of the kit is also available separately.

Blades

Our blades are hand carved from sustainably sourced, straight grained softwood. We will drill and balance them for you and can provide them varnished, painted or untreated.

Note: Some balancing may still be required once mounted on your alternator.

Stator and Magnet Discs

Our alternators are built to the Hugh Piggot design and comprise of neodymium magnets mounted onto laser-cut steel magnet discs, and a stator comprising of hand-wound copper coils. All parts are cast in polyester resin then finished with epoxy paint. The stator comes in 12V, 24V and 48V varieties.
